For me this means a lot in the way of subscribing to various game feeds to keep up to date with all kinds of changes and even keeping track of server downtime and maintenance.

I was also shocked to see how many sites use RSS to syndicate their content. It seems to be one of those things that is always there in the background, then when you are made aware of it, you start seeing it crop up all over the place. And I can definitely see how RSS feeds can keep you up to date with maintenance and downtime. Twitter is also excellent for that end, as long as the company maintains it. Neverwinter was always good about that when I played it in early 2013. Random downtime was almost instantly documented on their twitter as they hustled to get the game back up and running.
