Sydicated Content

All of my efforts to find a news article which discussed a company offering RSS or ATOM feeds to help either employees or others to keep up to date with various happenings in the company turned up with little or no results. What I did find when looking for articles discussing this topic was all sorts of various popular websites like Forbes CNN and BBC which had small articles talking about the value of subscribing to many of the different topics in order to keep oneself informed about various news. I was surprised to see that tons of websites offer some kind of live feed to which people can subscribe. It is great to know that if there is anything at all you want to keep completely up to date with most sites will have a way to keep you informed.

For me this means a lot in the way of subscribing to various game feeds to keep up to date with all kinds of changes and even keeping track of server downtime and maintenance.

  1. I was also shocked to see how many sites use RSS to syndicate their content. It seems to be one of those things that is always there in the background, then when you are made aware of it, you start seeing it crop up all over the place. And I can definitely see how RSS feeds can keep you up to date with maintenance and downtime. Twitter is also excellent for that end, as long as the company maintains it. Neverwinter was always good about that when I played it in early 2013. Random downtime was almost instantly documented on their twitter as they hustled to get the game back up and running.
