ESO early access and my future plans

Hey everyone,

I have been doing my best to get some time in with The Elder Scolls Online during this early access period and I plan to continue moving forward with it and eventually posting an in depth review of my take on the game. That being said I am still actively playing some older titles at the moment that I may write reviews for simply for my own personal benefit. I suspect my review for ESO will not be for some time as with the shear amount of content of most MMO's go it will take a long time to see much of it. I don't think I'll need to max out and have done all there is to do but I will want to feel comfortable with my analysis of the game.

So far I have not reached a point in the game that I have not already seen in my beta experience although a few things feel much more polished in the full release. I had a tough time getting the game to work properly the first day of release so that set me back about a day and a half in terms of play time. The good thing so far is that the server is running really smoothly and I have had no issues getting booted from or logging into the game, which is a very rare thing to see so early in release. I am looking forward to diving deeper into ESO in the coming weeks.

  1. I bet I know where you spent your time today, seeing as how full-release was today. I am not going to purchase the game for a while due to money constraints, but while in the beta, I noticed that between betas the game improved a LOT. I'm sure that early release and full release improved even more on that.

Although I'm sure you will be reviewing the game in the coming weeks, I was wondering if they have implemented the instancing and player separation they were talking about earlier on. They said something about how different players would be separated based on play styles. Nothing killed my fun more during beta than sneaking up on a monster and having a random player run in at full speed and agro it. *facepalm*. Also, going into dungeons should be a personal experience between a party, not a free-for-all server-wide boss-farm. I'm sure you know precisely what I mean by that. ; )

  2. So far there is no instancing, this is one of my main complaints about the game thus far. I really wish they would have implemented something like that. This ends up being a real immersion breaker for me. I enter a dangerous cave only see everything dead with five other players standing around. I hope in the future they plan to fully implement a instancing system for now though we will have to deal with all the other people. I honestly have not been playing as much as I want too with work and other school stuff going on but I keep sinking time in each day and I am sure I will feel comfortable reviewing eventually.

  3. I haven't really looked too much into this game because I'm not really into MMO's anymore, but seeing as it's coming out on console and I've never tried an MMO on console, I'm definitely going to try it out. I saw your last comment about no instancing and I can see how that could be extremely annoying. I hate where it feels like you have to beat other player to enemy spawns.
